Norwood is a newer, quiet, family friendly suburb south of Launceston city. With a local IGA, a shopping complex and the farm restaurant, Apricus where you can feed the farm animals or have a meal. It's also just a short drive away from the Meadow Mews shopping precinct, where you'll find plenty of amenities, a supermarket, retail shops and eateries within.
Neighbouring Norwood is the Punchbowl Reserve. This recreational area offers a playground, a river to paddle in, a small waterfall to admire, and lots of open space and BBQ areas.
An 8 minute drive away you’ll find Launceston city which has a variety of shops, cafes and restaurants. Another must see is the City Park which is known for its beautiful oak tree gardens, playground for the children, a plant-filled conservatory and cheeky snow monkeys.
Whilst in the CBD, make sure to visit the Cataract Gorge. A spectacular natural formation where you can enjoy long and short walks, fresh water swimming basins, the world's longest single-span chairlift and vibrant peacocks! An additional, unique way to experience this attraction is via the Tamar Cruise vessel, which cruises through the waters that carve between the rocky formations.
