Unlike typical VRBO homestays, we are a licensed and permitted facility that has been operated by professionals since 1998, is properly insured, and complies with local, county, state, and federal regulations.
Our land is vast and remote and features many outdoor places to enjoy. We are a safe haven where you can experience holistic healthy living. On the North Shore, we are blessed with trade winds, so we have no need for air-conditioners. Our water is provided by a well with the most delicious alkaline water from the volcanic aquifer. We offer greens from our organic food- garden, eggs, and fruits for purchase, along with our coconut kefir that will enhance your well-being.
We are staffed by our family and community— During check-in we welcome our guests, show them around our beautiful property, and explain the foundations of regenerative living. We are deeply honored to share this place with you – our responsible traveler. The bamboo temple is built with the sacred geometry of the nautilus shell, which is a symbol of internal harmony and the beauty of nature. The spiral traces the journey of life, a passage that leads to the Source. This little jewel is peaceful, and private, and offers an expansive view of rolling hills that drop off to the powerful ocean. The Bamboo Temple offers incredible views of the ocean and the famous Hana coastline, which you can enjoy with coffee or tea.
This incredibly picturesque shelter features a queen-sized bed, full kitchen, walk-in closet, and a very private outdoor shower with an ocean view. Lying in the bamboo poster bed, you will wake up with the rising sun and revel in the most spectacular rainbows. Enjoy views of the stars and the Milky Way Galaxy as you lay in bed at night through our rooftop prism-shaped window. Our walls are decorated with hand-painted silk thankas and a small altar with sacred art that invites you to sit and contemplate.
This has also been a special place for many artists and spiritual teachers to surrender to the universal flow of creativity. For example, our dear friend Alex Grey stayed here with his wife, Allyson Grey, and painted ‘Lovers’ in this temple.
The Secret of the North Shore is the Trade Winds that keep the space at a comfortable temperature all the time. We are also blessed with early morning rains that not only keep our gardens lush but also cleanse and wash away the past. Staying in our Bamboo Temple is an elegant and memorable experience that will keep your Hawaii vacation forever etched in your heart.

ABOUT OUR PROPERTY:
All of our buildings are ecologically built and adorned with spiritual art and hand-crafted masterpieces from Pacific and Asian countries. We are surrounded by a lush jungle, ponds, flower gardens, fruit trees, and an easily accessible waterfall that flows into natural pools for swimming, from which you can gaze upon the breathtaking view of the valley.
Our land is a wonderful place to wander and explore: you can take a short walk past our organic garden, agroforestry garden, chickens, and countless species of flowers and plants, and enter our temples, where you can rest, relax and meditate. For the adventurer, our ocean trail is a moderately challenging cliff trail and that takes about a half-hour to get down to the ocean. You will enjoy the wild beauty and the untouched nature of this piece of rural Maui, which is occasionally visited by dolphins and turtles. However, be sure to prepare with a good pair of hiking shoes, some snacks, a water bottle, and feel your feet—the trail can be very slippery after heavy rain. In the wintertime, whales can be spotted breaching from the viewpoints on this trail — even from your bed as well.
As we live off the grid in a sustainable and organic jungle, some friendly and harmless critters are a part of our life. Occasionally small geckos are seen in the house and we remind guests of the importance of sealing up and putting away any uneaten food. If food is left out, ants will take it as an opportunity to make your leftovers a great feast. Also, Maui's tropical climate is conducive to moist air and mold. We are diligent in our cleanliness and strive to keep our spaces clean and insect free, but as previously mentioned we take good care of our land and live harmoniously in nature. We cater with 100% success to all our guests who want to experience nature and take time out from their busy lives to relax.

We are situated on the North Shore of Maui, where you can experience the most exquisite sunrise over the ocean! While you can experience off-grid living here, we are just 40 minutes northeast of Kahului airport and 30 minutes from Paia, a wonderful, iconic beach town that is home to fantastic restaurants, boutiques, a health-food grocery store, internet cafés, bank/ATM, post office and lovely sandy beaches where you can enjoy walks, picnics, sun, swimming, surfing and turtle watching! Located at the beginning of “The Road to Hana,” we are the ideal starting point for this quintessential Maui sightseeing experience. We are in the heart of the island—true Hawaii—where you will receive a full, authentic experience of local living that is free from the pressures of tourism.
We are located in the Valley of the White Owl, the Pueo and we are blessed by the spirit creature called "Mo'o". These are the legendary protectors of Hawaii's pools, ponds, and streams who can change forms from small Geckos to giant Dragons. We have two old Hawaiian churches and we have a really beautiful guestbook, which shares more about the history of this place and the valley we are located in.

Late Arrival: There is an additional $45 charge for late arrivals between 6pm - 10pm and $65 from 10pm to 11pm. We are a small family-owned business and have to hire an after-hour guest-services person to welcome late-night arrivals and show you to your room or cottage. We prefer check-ins between 3pm and 6pm. Thank you for understanding our situation.
Car rentals in Hawaii can be expensive. If you are staying for at least one week, please inquire to rent our SUV Subaru Crosstrek.
