Bright, warm, inviting, a home who's charms include a courtyard with established gardens and fantastic ocean views. Entering you have an expansive view of the ocean, gulf islands, and Mt. Baker. The open concept living area flows onto a large ocean view deck furnished with dinning table and lounge chairs making a relaxing outside retreat. In the afternoons enjoy the cozy courtyard dinning area with barbeque. Sunshine all day!
For early risers you will be rewarded and enchanted by the fantastic sunrise over the ocean and gulf islands, ferries coming and going through active pass, perhaps an eagle soaring overhead searching for breakfast all with glacier topped mountains in the distance. In the evening at the right moment see the moon as it seems to emerge from the water, casting a beautiful light on the ocean and illuminating the view.
The living area is about 2,000 sq'. All rooms are tastefully furnished and have hardwood floors. The large but cozy living, dining and kitchen area is filled with windows providing abundant sunlight. The dining table seats 6 comfortably, all looking out on an interesting and ever changing view. The kitchen is fully equipped to meet all your culinary needs with some basic pantry items available.
The master bedroom has a beautiful ocean view, furnished with a queen bed, 3 piece ensuite and ample closet space, a sliding glass door which opens onto the deck.
Across the hall the 2nd bedroom also with queen bed, is attached to a large sunny, private bathroom with a large glass enclosed shower, no need to close the blinds! French doors open onto a private sunbathing deck to soak up the sun! The 3rd bdrm with queen bed is also accessible to the main bathroom.
The kitchen has engineered quartz countertops, an island, refrigerator with ice maker, dishwasher, glass top stove and oven, beautiful granite farmhouse sink. The laundry area has a front load washer and dryer, large laundry folding table ajoined to a office area. Bluewave internet 300 servicing the house. Through french doors down a few steps you enter into a separate family room with flatscreen TV playing Netflix, a cosy gas fireplace and 3rd bathroom with shower. A warm and inviting sunroom with plants and comfy chairs where you can sip your coffee and enjoy the view. There is a small bar area with fridge. This family room opens onto a sunny afternoon patio with barbeque, table and chairs for 6, all in a cozy enclosed courtyard atmosphere. A truly inviting home away from home. Relax and enjoy the beauty that is Salt Spring Island, the ocean, unbelievable sunrises, forests, the people and the wildlife.
Young children need close supervision as there are 2 small ponds with goldfish surrounded by flowerbeds. The house is situated half way up Mt. Belcher with the main town of Ganges within 2 Km. It is not rented for events or parties.
Virginia stays in a trailer on one corner of the property. I am very respectful of guests privacy and most of the guests living is done on the other side of the house. There are artisan studios and a hot yoga studio within walking distance.
