Beautiful, Victorian-style lake home just 10 miles from downtown Alexandria and minutes from the antique shops in Osakis or weddings at Crooked Willow. This home has all luxury comforts and leisure activities that you would want in a lake property. Located on a quiet, spring-fed lake with gradual sloping, hard sand bottom lake that is perfect for small children. Guests enjoy the private beach with kayaks, paddle boards and toys and the excellent fishing off the dock. The lake is perfect swimming and boating or ice fishing in the winter. You will enjoy the many indoor and outdoor activities such as taking quiet country walks, playing family yard games, reading a book in the gazebo, cooking marvelous meals in the chef’s kitchen and watching the sunset by a campfire. Located in the sought after Alexandria lakes area, this home has it all!. It is also equipped with WiFi and Direct TV across the 4 available TVs. To ensure extra comfort for our quests, we employ Mosquito squad utilizing their premium summer package to fight those pesky mosquitos*. This is the perfect home for families to enjoy for several days or more.
Do you like to fish? This is the home for you during all seasons! The end of our dock is a hot spot on the lake for fishing. Anglers can expect to catch a variety of fish including bass, northern pike, walleye, perch and more. The lake is great for ice fishing and is host to the annual Fishing for the Cure tournament.
Bring your bicycle because access to the Central Lakes Trail is 6 miles away in Osakis. The trail is built on 55 miles of former railroad line stretching between Fergus Falls and Osakis. It additionally passes through the communities of Dalton, Ashby, Melby, Evansville, Brandon, Garfield, Alexandria, and Nelson. The trail traverses through, or next to, a scenic mixture of woodlands, grasslands, lakes, wetlands, and farm country. The trail is open to non-motorized visitors with the exception of snowmobiles during the winter season. It is great for walking, running, bicycling, in-line skating, roller skiing, wheelchairs, etc.
While Serenity on Smith is not wheelchair accessible throughout, there is access from the driveway to the lower level sleeping quarters/bathroom with no steps. Access to the open main floor with its decks and living areas from the back of the house requires only three steps. There are steps required to access the beach.
This property is on a dead end road, and we cannot stress the amount of privacy and quiet that you will get to enjoy with your family and friends. Sand and water toys, kayaks, paddle boards, paddle boat, lily pad, indoor games, yard games (bocce, bean bag, board games and more provided). There is a beautiful playhouse that children will adore. We share with you and your family what our family has enjoyed for over 10 years.
*Mosquito Squad helps to minimize mosquitos for most of the day and night. However, we are in Minnesota and it is impossible to completely eliminate mosquitos. You will notice that mosquito activity is worse at dusk and will last 30-45 minutes until they settle on treated areas and perish. During the active time, we recommend using mosquito repellent or convening indoors until they settle.
