The community is gated so access will be initially granted by security. A gate fob will be provided to you for easy access in and out of the community.

Vistas Del Lago is a uniquely designed gated community overlooking beautiful Lake Arenal and Vulcan Arenal. Enjoy breathtaking views of the mountainside while listening to toucans croaking, parrots chirping and monkeys howling in the trees, some of which may be on the property you are staying in. We are blessed to have a Clubhouse with an exercise room, saltwater pool, and common area. There is a part-time restaurant that offers breakfast 3 days a week and has a wonderful area with a TV and a large selection of books and videos.
Our community is comprised of ex-pat and national residents alike. Some residents live here year-round while for others this is their vacation home.

Each homesite within Vistas is a minimum of 1.5 acres which provides wonderful privacy and tranquility. A vehicle is absolutely recommended should you decide to visit us. However we have had guests who came without one and we can recommend driving services to get you out and about as needed.
We are only 3 miles from the picturesque town of Tronadora, with the prettiest park in Guanacaste, where you can find everything you need including, a grocery store, butcher, bakery, liquor, 2 restaurants, and for those looking for the nightlife, there is also a bar.
An easy 1.5 hour drive from Liberia Airport and 3 hours from San Jose. If arriving in San Jose with less than 3 hours of daylight we recommend that you stay over near the airport and get a fresh start in the morning. Most of the roads are paved however not well marked and there are lots of twists and turns.
We have plenty of parking area.
This community has 24-hour gated access. On-site security provides peace of mind that you and your belongings will be safe and secure.
Firstly, we want to warmly welcome you to Casa Viento Loco located in the premier Lakeview community of Vistas Del Lago Arenal. As our guests, our main priority is for you to enjoy our home and its amenities with ease.
The very first thing I would like you to know is that we take security seriously, Costa Rica and its people are beautiful but the pandemic and inflation have made things very difficult for many people. We know that desperate people can and will do desperate things and theft of personal belongings and electronics is on the rise of late in Costa Rica. Our best line of defense is to take every possible precaution. We live inside a gated community, we utilize security alarms in our homes, we have motion-activated lighting, and we have a security camera that monitors our main entrance door ( this is not watched it is merely to play back should there be an incident) and we have a neighborhood watch program that identifies unknown visitors in our community (don't worry the neighbors know you are coming and they are happy you will be there). Our security team does unscheduled rounds of the community and we have strong relationships within the surrounding communities. We have been very fortunate to not have had any thefts for more than 10 years. All of that to say, please utilize these features during your stay to the level of your comfort. Some of our neighbors activate their alarms every time they leave and others do not.
