This country house, 30 minutes from Auch and Marciac, is everything you'd expect from an 18th century farmhouse renovated in a contemporary style. Modern volumes cleverly articulated in an old building renovated to measure, improbable circulation tricks, games of lines and perspectives, and of course a certain sense of taste... For 10/12 people, it offers a swimming pool overlooking the Gascon valleys, a private padel court, pétanque, a kitchen with indoor grills and several shaded dining areas.
Away from the crowds, come and recharge your batteries in this carefully decorated country house. With a surface area of 340m2, it comprises a large central living room on the ground floor, with a vast kitchen opening onto the dining room, and a comfortable lounge area separated by the fireplace clad in raw steel.
This living space, open to the outside on both sides of the house, provides access to a shaded east-facing terrace where you can admire the sunrise at breakfast overlooking the pool, and a covered west-facing dining area where you can finish the day with a sunset dinner. The 'full black' kitchen, with its central island, also features a worktop-high fireplace for indoor grilling executed with maestria.
The bedrooms are all on the first floor. The first floor of the main house has been skilfully transformed by the owner-architect, who wanted to retain all the exposed roof timbers, while providing several areas of privacy for the occupants. The result is 2 double bedrooms nestled in soundproofed white cubes, and a private alcove at the back with another double bed and a breathtaking view of the Pic du Midi on clear days. This sleeping area shares a bathroom with shower and wc. The other part of the first floor has a large master suite with 2 separate double bedrooms and a bathroom with bath, and a final double bedroom with private access to a bathroom with bath, shower and wc.
The former dovecote, near the swimming pool, is home to a charming and very special bedroom on the first floor (not accessible to under-12s). It's called the owl room. For 2 people, with direct access to the pool and the shaded mezzanine play area, open to the outside and overlooking the countryside. This room has a washbasin, but no wc or bathroom, which are all in the main house.
Outside, free from any nuisance, the view is almost 360°, taking in the valleys of Gascony and the Pyrenees. A private swimming pool (4mx12m. depth 1.20 to 1.80m), unsupervised, with alarm, sun loungers and parasols, is available. There is also a petanque court, table tennis, darts and a real private padel court, unlit at night, (rackets and balls included) on a hard surface (asphalt).
