OUR SUMMER RENTALS WILL BE FRIDAY AFTERNOON ( 4PM ) UNTIL THE FOLLOWING FRIDAY MORNING ( 10AM ) TO GIVE OUR CLEANING STAFF AMPLE TIME TO THOROUGHLY CLEAN AND SANITIZE THE COTTAGE BETWEEN GUESTS.
2024 RENTAL REQUESTS WILL BE REVIEWED THE END OF SEPTEMBER 2023.
We give our current guests first shot at the following year's calendar. We will save all requests and contact people by end of september. If you don't hear from me, feel free to make another request. Many of our guests have been returning for years.
Our cottage is great for families or a couple couples, or the girls shopping and wine getaways. Golfers, Skiers as well as hikers and bikers will enjoy the options that are all close by.
We are secluded with a 1.25 acre lot and just over 200 feet of lake frontage with a sandy beach for the kids and grandkids to play in. But also close to all the fun stuff like Torch lake, Golf, lots of shopping, skiing, hiking, biking and so much more.
Families will love the large lot and quiet safe area that has very little traffic. A Cherry orchard is right next door. The boating and water sports are incredible. There are 5 lakes all connected together with the Grass and Torch Rivers, so you have over 100 miles of shoreline and over 31,000 acres of lakes to explore including Torch Lake which is just a few minutes away and has been voted one of the most beautiful lakes in the world.
Hikers, bikers, runners, walkers and site seers will enjoy the quiet rolling hills and roads in our part of the area. You will see deer, wild turkey, swans, and our favorite, the Loons. The spring with the smells from blossoms from all the orchards and the morels in the woods is a quiet but nice time to visit. The fall with the incredible colors is worth a trip. Stop in at one of the maple syrup shacks along your way and enjoy true maple syrup.
Foodies will savor the Up North restaurant choices. Northern Michigan has become a vacation destination for food and wine lovers. There are so many choices you will need to come back again. Whether it be Cajun inspired food at Pearl's, Polish cuisine at Leg's Inn, or perhaps one of the farm to table restaurants or a cherry pie from one of the road side stands, you can't go wrong.
Shoppers will enjoy the many small towns all within a short drive. Traverse City, Sleeping Bear Dunes, Leelanau wine country, Elk Rapids, Petosky, Charlevoix, Gaylord and Boyne City, Harbor Springs all make for a nice day trip.
Golfers will love that there are 7 courses within 12 miles of the cottage including highly ranked ( #12 ) Hawks Eye, ( #16 ) Cedar River, and Arnold Palmer's Legend course at Schuss mountain. Within an hour's drive you will find courses from Jack Nicklause, ( The Bear ). Gaylord area has 17 courses from designers such as Robert Trent Jones, Tom Fazio, Rick Smith, Jerry Matthews to name a few. There are over 40 courses within an hours drive of the cottage.
Hunters can expect to find plenty of deer, wild turkey, as well as other small game. Fisherman will be in heaven as Clam Lake and the other 4 lakes are full of Bass, Perch, Blue Gill, Pike, Muskie and Atlantic Salmon. There is even a couple of winter Ice Fishing tournaments.
Shorts Brewery, Beewell Ciders, Torch lake Cellars, and many other wineries and distilleries are all close by. Charter tours available for these as well as fishing
