This apartment is Madison County’s first and only zoned and fully authorized home-sharing rental and can accept and comfortably accommodate 14 guests in beds with no shared space with Host.
Come relax for 1 night passing through the Lexington-Richmond-Berea or longer exploring our beautiful area. Feel at home in a large, comfortable space (2000 sq ft) and be treated like Family!

Relax with your family or friends in a peaceful, relaxing and comfortable apartment/home setting that offers guests 2000 sf of completely PRIVATE and SEPARATE space.
Walk in and feel at home in this inviting space that is tastefully decorated with 3 bedrooms, 2 full baths including a whirlpool jet tub in the main bathroom. The Master Bedroom features a comfy King Size bed as well as a pull-out futon. The second bedroom features a queen size sleep number bed, along with a pull-out futon. The Bonus/Family Room is a large open space (almost 800 square feet) that is also a Third Bedroom. This fun area has a King Size bed, full-size bed and a queen size sofa bed. There is also a large comfy sectional that becomes a perfect setting for family gatherings for holiday exchanges, game nights, Bridal and Bachelor parties or just a wonderful space to relax, watch a 50” large screen TV and stream your entertainment choices through Roku devices. Netflix and Prime are always signed in for guests’ use and many other streaming channels are pre-loaded. Cable television options are provided through Spectrum, as is the high speed internet and as a fail safe, 3 large antennas provide constant access to 64 local stations in case of outages through the provider.
Guests have a private entrance with a keypad lock and unique code and will use a separate and private driveway that offers space for 3 cars. For larger groups that have more than 3 vehicles, arrangements can be made to use the hosts’ driveway for overflow parking. A full size kitchen features many amenities to make guests feel comfortable and at home with the conveniences of appliances and necessities without having to pack those. There is a full size dishwasher, an electric range with a double oven, full size microwave & lots and lots of cookware, dinnerware, silverware, glassware, serving and baking dishes/pans/sheets, a 10 cup Bunn Coffee Maker, a Keurig (with pods in popular flavors) an Electric Water Kettle and tea bags and cocoa, 3 slo cookers (sizes -small, medium and large), a rotating Belgian waffle maker, an air fryer, a large blender, a hand mixer, an install, several drink pitchers, a Zero Water large container keeps filtered water easily accessible and cold in the full size side by side refrigerator/freezer with ice maker and filtered water in the door. Guests will also have access to the exercise equipment.
Once guests are settled in , they will have access to a large private backyard with wonderful views of the creek that provides access to Lake Wilgreen. There is an outdoor dining table with chairs, 3 loungers, to soak up the sun and peace and quiet, a gas grill, a fire pit to enjoy outdoor conversations, ghosts stories or plan an outdoor meal or dessert roasting hot dogs and marshmallows with the available fire sticks over an open fire. No electronics needed for guests to soak in the atmosphere on warmer spring, summer and fall evenings. Sit outside and watch the starry nights while lightening bugs entertain guests with their own light show and coyotes provide an audio treat occasionally as they howl across the lake.
For those who enjoy animals, my crazy crew is always ready for guest arrivals and any backyard social visits. Graci, my Bloodhound and Charli (black and white kitten/cat) are outdoor animals and they are not allowed in the apartment space for those with allergy or safety concerns. Graci is 11 y/o and is a self appointed greeter/watchdog/counselor/therapy-through-petting & food safety canine. She is always ready to sit and listen attentively as guests talk, petting her may be a great stress reducer and she is available to test food for guests’ safety first. She has been spoiled by some guests and has had full breakfasts and lots of steak bones- no feeding is necessary though!! And Graci has a No Appointment Necessary policy for all guests, family and friends should anyone want to employ any of her services! She patrols and guards her world and Hoomans 😊. She has always made sure that not one coyote has ever entered our yard and she has guarded neighbors 8-10 homes up the street, going through her invisible fence to chase the coyotes away when they ventured across the creek. Charli is still young at only 1 y/o and she will entertain with her outdoor antics and acrobatics. She loves being attention as well.
I am very sensitive to guests who may not want to interact with the animals though - just let me know! I can restrict backyard access for Graci. Graci has the invisible fence and I’ve set it so she can not get to the driveway - she will sit and watch longingly and try to lure guests to her for petting if they want. Lilli is my 12 y/o Pekingese and she is my indoor baby. She typically goes downstairs to meet guests, but she does not have to for guests with concerns or allergies.
There are many sightseeing and activities in our area. In the back and closest is the creek that feeds into the lake. Kayak or canoe access is possible if one is brave and in shape enough to carry the watercraft down/up the backyard hill. 😅. Lake Wilgreen, which is approximately 5 miles long is a no-wake lake so it’s always peaceful and quiet and perfect for canoeing and kayaking for guests who may bring those. Fishing on the lake offers crappie, catfish and bluegill fish for those with boat access from the marina or bank fishing where accessible. Bass fishing tournaments are regularly held in season. Typically there are only smaller fish in the creek in the backyard (with an occasional catfish) but guests have enjoyed the time outdoors regardless of the day’s catch. A queen and full air mattresses are available.
Extras include a great sharing of kindness as guests can “pay it forward” which allows a good selection of pantry staples, spices, oils and sprays, paper and plastic plates, trash and food bags, and a varied option of frozen waffles, breakfast sandwiches, pancakes, pancake and waffle mix, cereal, pop tarts, oatmeal, coffee and teas. Guests who have enjoyed these conveniences of extra amenities frequently leave donations to continue to fully accommodate future guests. I personally supply each group with an assortment of fresh fruit, bread, eggs, milk and snacks such as donuts or fresh pastries, homemade goodies such as banana bread or warm oven baked cookies, etc. This is my Thank You and my Welcome tradition.
Our home is in a quiet and secluded back portion of our subdivision with a creek leading to access to Lake Wilgreen (boating, fishing, canoes and kayaks only-no swimming lake) and yet located less than 2-3 minutes (1 mile) to Richmond’s fast growing Richmond Centre, shopping, restaurants and entertainment. We are 5 miles from a local winery and within 2 miles of I-75 providing quick access to Lexington, the Bourbon Trail, The Kentucky Horse Park, area Wineries and many waterfalls and hiking opportunities, including Cumberland Falls.
