Bike store. Private parking for 2 cars. No smoking.. Muirfad Cottage is a cosy, two bedroomed cottage nestled at the foot of Cairnsmore of Fleet in beautiful Dumfries and Gallway. As well as the many walking opportunities from your doorstep, Kirroughtree Forest, one of the 7 Stanes Mountain biking trails, is rideable from Muirfad Cottage.
Muirfad Cottage sits on the edge of a working farm, just off the A75. The cottage was converted from an old grain store and offers comfortable, pet-friendly accommodation. With two bedrooms (one with en-suite toilet), it is perfect for couples or families. The garden is enclosed and looks out onto rolling countryside. Dogs are very welcome at Muirfad Cottage and have the run of a pet-friendly, enclosed garden, but while walking through the farmyard please keep them on a lead.
The area is known as the gateway to the Galloway Hills and offers easy access to walking and cycling. The starting point of the walk up Cairnsmore of Fleet and the National Cycle route 7 is just up the road. If water sports are more your thing, then the stunning coastline of Brighouse Bay is a short drive away. The pretty villages of Kirkcudbright and Gatehouse of Fleet are just around the corner, and the bustling town of Newton Stewart is a couple of miles away.
