Private parking for 2 cars. No smoking. Please note: The property has a natural water supply from a spring. There is a river in the grounds, 150 metres away.. Within the unspoilt village of Laneast, near the once capital of Cornwall, Launceston, you will discover and be totally smitten by this fabulous barn. With original feature beams and high ceiling, stained glass window which projects the suns’ rays into the living room, superbly renovated bedrooms and a totally spellbinding thirty one acres of private woodland, open fields, trout filled river and ancient Holy well!
Set in peaceful surroundings, this is an idyllic spot to get away from the hustle and bustle of daily life. Walk through the wood, adorned with bluebells and with some of the most beautiful trees you could ever wish to see. The River Inny runs through the grounds, filled with trout and salmon along with both dippers and a resident kingfisher. Perfect for picnics by the riverside, you would be forgiven for not venturing farther afield in this superb area of Cornwall, and before you do, as you stroll across the fields, you come across a sight to behold - an ancient Holy Well, many centuries old. This small slate, granite and wooden structure is a great example and has an interesting and captivating past. Tear yourself away and to the west from Laneast you have beaches, coves and cliff top walks to explore. Trebarwith Beach, the nearest has a wide expanse of sand at low tide. Crackington Haven, Widemouth Bay have stunning, rugged coastline views across the vast Atlantic Ocean. Bude, with it’s several beaches is a popular town with surfers and swimmers alike and boasts cafés, gift shops, restaurants and bars.
Pretty Boscastle harbour, Port Isaac, where a popular TV drama is filmed and vibrant Padstow, where excellent restaurants create wonderful seafood dishes are all within 30 miles and where you will experience Cornish life.
