A short drive beyond the village is the historic town of Totnes, famous for its thriving art scene, independent shops, amazing, quirky cinema, fabulous restaurants and bars. Ashburton, famous for its antique shops, is a short drive, and is the gateway to Dartmoor National Park, for memorable walks through ancient woodlands, cascading rivers and ancient stone tors.
Exeter, the cathedral city, is only forty five minutes drive, with all the major High Street brands, but most importantly, the breathtaking cathedral itself makes it well worth a daytrip.
